Why Therapy?
A therapy session is an intentional space for you to explore and process what feels overwhelming or stressful in your life. By looking at stories and events we can understand more of how they have helped shaped us into who we are and how that impacts us now relationally. Together we can pay attention to somatic states (what stories your body is telling you), core relationship dynamics, and where you’re feeling stuck.
As an artist I am also use expressive arts therapies with clients (such as painting, drawing, or whatever creative media you enjoy) to bring to the surface what the body is holding that words cannot convey. You don’t have to be an artist or self proclaimed creative. It’s a methodology that requires no skill, just curiosity.
Ultimately, I believe emotional health looks like growing in compassion and love for yourself and others, as well as learning how to share more of your experiences with those you trust. It’s a difficult world out there. We could all use more support on this journey.
